At Advanced Spine and Sports Medicine, we support health, wellness, and vigor by helping you keep your body moving the way it was designed, performing at its highest level, and avoiding injury through science-based physical medicine. We are eager to help you get back on track to living a pain-free life with improved mobility and functionality.
We provide the following chiropractic and physical therapy services in Doylestown and Washington Crossing:
Chiropractic care is traditionally performed with a physical therapist’s hands to restore proper motion of joints and neurologic function throughout the body through manipulation. By restoring proper biomechanics, the body is not only able to move correctly but it allows for surrounding muscle tension to ease and proper nerve function.
Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation
Physical therapy is a multisystemic treatment for patients who have been immobilized or impaired in their movement and flexibility. Patients are rehabilitated to use their own muscles to increase flexibility and range of motion as well as to advance to higher levels of muscular strength and endurance. To relieve pain and reduce swelling, physical therapy often includes the use of modalities, or passive physical therapy, such as electrical stimulation, hot packs, cold compresses, and ultrasound. Physical therapy addresses the illnesses or injuries that limit a person's abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives.
Manual Soft Tissue Manipulation & Mobilization
This non-invasive manual therapy is performed by your provider with hands-on techniques on your muscles, ligaments, and fascia to break adhesions and optimize your muscle function. We utilize a variety of techniques for soft tissue mobilization, including trigger point therapy, manual muscle massage, friction massage, pin and stretch, and more.
Kinesiology tape is a medically approved, water- and sweat-proof tape applied to the skin used to apply pressure to the tissue it is wrapped around to promote better blood and lymphatic fluid flow to aid recovery and heal inflammation without the use of medication. At the same time, this special tape can support muscles and allow internal injuries to heal without inhibiting the body’s mobility.
EPAT® Shockwave Therapy
This FDA-cleared technology utilizes a unique set of acoustic pressure waves that stimulate metabolism, enhance blood circulation, and accelerate the healing process. This allows damaged tissues to gradually regenerate and heal.
Electric Muscle Stimulation
The “e-stim” device creates thermal, physiological, and chemical responses that can alter pain impulses and speed up the recovery process by encouraging blood flow to the treatment area. E-stim electrodes are attached to the treatment area and help speed up the body’s natural healing process by reducing swelling and promoting general muscle tone.
AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill™
This treadmill helps remove these problems as it gives you a feeling of weightlessness, almost as though you’re in the water, but without having to put on a bathing suit. The low-impact exercise sessions are similar to aquatic therapy and allow patients to attain similar benefits but on dry land.
Our practice offers on-site imaging technology. This enables us to get detailed diagnostics to devise the best possible treatment plans catered to your individual needs and goals so we can uncover any possible problems or conditions that are invisible to the naked eye.
